About Ellen
I’m a longtime Comox Valley local with deep roots in community, education, and the natural world. I spent 25 years in the public school system and have always adored working with children and families. As a counsellor, I draw from a lifelong practice of meditation, yoga, and mindfulness, along with years of experience as a community volunteer, activist, and educator. I’m also a passionate hiker, cyclist, and kayaker – and one of those strange people who genuinely enjoys swimming in the ocean year-round. Music is another big part of my life: I sing, play flute and guitar, and love both leading and participating in the vibrant musical life of the Valley. I’m married, with four grown children and two granddaughters, and I bring all of these life experiences – professional and personal – into my counselling practice with warmth, curiosity, and respect.

A Little About My Space:
Located on a spacious property overlooking the ocean, my office is a quiet, light-filled space designed to help you feel comfortable and grounded. Soft natural tones, cozy textures, and touches of nature create a sense of calm and safety—an environment where reflection and healing can unfold at their own pace.
You are surrounded by privacy here. Clients can arrive and leave without being visible to others. There is no sign indicating that my office is for counselling. You won’t see any other clients, as I am careful to ensure no overlap in my scheduling. Many clients notice a sense of peace and expansion as soon as they step out of their car.
